The Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (PABSON) has decided to organise its 8th General Assembly in Lalitpur on August 5 and 6.
The meeting will discuss the cancellation of the one per cent education service tax and discrimination on the reserved quotas in higher education in its two-day general assembly.
At a press meet in the capital today, PABSON chairman Rajesh Khadka expressed dissatisfaction over the government declaration regarding the formation of a committee to discuss whether or not one percent education service tax should be imposed. But, the PABSON has demanded the cancellation of the tax in education to ensure children’s fundamental right to education.
On the occasion Khadka said they were ready for contributing 1.5 percent from the benefit for the educational support to backward community issuing invoice bill instead of piling tax load to students. He also demanded regulations for private schools.
He warned of stern protest after the general assembly if their demands were not addressed.
