United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, B. Lynn Pascoe is scheduled to visit Nepal and India from Dec. 2 to 4.
This will be Pascoe’s third visit to Nepal before the expiry of United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN)’s term. His last visit was in October.
It has been reported that Pascoe’s visit to India will mainly focus on a range of regional and international issues.
Meanwhile, Pascoe will take stock of the efforts being made by the country’s political leaders towards concluding the remaining tasks of the peace process and the departure of UNMIN in January 15.
His visit will also dwell on the issues of integration and rehabilitation of the UCPN (Maoist) combatants and ensure an orderly withdrawal of the mission that leaves no critical gap, spokesperson to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon informed.
