Banepa, A new experiment in irrigation has been done in various VDCs of Kavre district, which do not have irrigation facilities so far.
The new experiment was done by providing irrigation to the farmers through drop irrigation technology. Irrigation has been reached to five hectares of land in Kavre under this technology as demanded by the farmers, said Dambar Singh Thapa, technician of the District Agriculture Development Office Kavre.
He said farmers have increased output through it in Banepa, and 16 VDCs including Budol, Kushadevi, Anekot and Baluwa. The irrigation technology was brought in six years back. For it, farmers need drums of 50- 100 litres and pipe. Farmers have been attracted to it, said the office. It is dependent on the desires of the farmers. As per the demand of the farmers, 100 drums and pipe were provided in grant.
The Agriculture Development Office has also completed 31 small irrigation projects, three projects of the cooperatives and three of cooperative farming in the district.
