A Nepal Oil Corporation team today monitored three gas bottling plants belonging to Sagar Gas, Chandeshwori Gas and Surya Gas in Kavre to take stock of the security measures adopted by the plants.
“We inspected the cooling systems and other security measures there,” said NOC acting director Sushil Bhattarai, who headed the monitoring team. The monitors also seen to it that the gas companies were not cheating customers.
The team weighed empty cylinders and checked if they contained dregs inside them.
NOC deputy director Mohan Kumar Karki said his team told the companies to make necessary improvements in technical weaknesses found during the inspection.
About three months ago a team from the commerce department and district administration office had inspected gas bottling plants in the district and reported that their security provisions were not up to the mark.
